As part of its philosophy to create energy-saving products and incorporate environmentally-responsible practices into all its operations, CBIA member company, ebm-papst Inc. , the world’s leading source for engineered air movement products, will join ebm-papst offices around the world in celebrating “Every Day is a GreenDay week” June 11 to 16.
As part of its celebration, on June 11 ebm-papst Inc.’s Farmington, Conn.-based U.S. headquarters will launch a contest that invites all middle and high school students in Hartford County to submit brief videos demonstrating the creative ways they incorporate green practices into their lives at home and school.
Deadline for submission of the videos, which should be uploaded to ebm-papst’s drop box at https://www.filesanywhere.com/Dropbox/db.aspx?v=896e628758666eb771af is August 11.
The videos must:
- be no more than two minutes in length
- include students talking about their ideas for energy saving, recycling, conservation and green living
- include footage demonstrating at least one example of the above practices
- be submitted in a Windows Movie File (.wmv) or Quicktime format
The videos will be judged by members of ebm-papst’s executive and marketing teams. Awards will be announced on August 27, and the winning videos will be posted on ebm-papst’s Faceboook page. Three winners will be recognized during a ceremony at the company’s facility on September 6.
The student who submits the most compelling green video will receive a grand prize of an iPad 3 (16GB WiFi model). The second prize winner will win a family trip for four to the Connecticut Science Center, including lunch for four at the museum’s Café and four tickets to a performance at the the IMAX theater. The third prize winner will receive a ‘green’ basket of environmentally-friendly products.
