What does he do?

Fuel cell technicians work with fuel cell engineers, researching, assembling and testing fuel cells.  They can also service and maintain fuel cell installations.  More experienced technicians can manage projects, analyze data and recommend product design revisions to engineers.

What background do you need?

• High school diploma
• Certificate in fuel cell technology (preferred)
• Associates degree in technology  (preferred)

Connecticut is a leader in fuel cell technology. Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury offers an Alternative Energy Systems Technology Certificate, which includes coursework in fuel cell technology that was developed and is taught by local fuel cell industry leaders.
